Aliyev and Erdogan Discuss Baku-Yerevan Relations in Phone Call

The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussed issues of bilateral cooperation as well as the prospects for the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan during a meeting held in Istanbul on Saturday. This was reported by TASS.

“During the conversation, the prospects for further deepening cooperation in the political, economic, trade, energy, military, and military-technical spheres between Azerbaijan and Turkey were discussed. The leaders also exchanged views on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the peace agenda,” the statement said.

Aliyev expressed condolences to Erdogan and the people of Turkey regarding the loss of life due to devastating earthquakes in the country. He emphasized that Azerbaijan will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to address the aftermath of the disaster.

For his part, Erdogan thanked Azerbaijan for its support and solidarity following the earthquakes.
