Several Soldiers Transferred to Military Police Departments
The Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia consistently urges soldiers to refrain from possessing prohibited items, particularly smartphone-type mobile phones. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Aram Torosyan, on his Facebook page.
He also noted, "Despite these recommendations, military police employees continue to discover smartphone-type mobile phones and other prohibited items during their daily operations in military units. Once again, we call upon the parents and friends of soldiers to refrain from sending smartphone-type mobile phones and prohibited items to the troops in order to strengthen discipline in the armed forces and ensure security."
The Ministry of Defense informs that smartphone-type phones found among soldiers will only be returned to them after completing their mandatory military service. As a result of extensive operations by the Military Police of Armenia, several conscript and contract soldiers of the Armenian Armed Forces have been transferred to military police units for violating the Ministry of Defense's directive by using smartphones and uploading photos from military service to the internet.
The soldiers have been subjected to disciplinary action. The Ministry of Defense of Armenia is committed to preventing such incidents and will hold the violators accountable.
