VIDEO: No discussions about any corridor logic, Kopirkin

The joint committee of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan, which discusses the unblocking of economic infrastructures and roads in the South Caucasus, is not negotiating any corridor passing through Armenian territory, as repeatedly stated by the Russian side. This was announced in an interview with 24News by Sergey Kopirkin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Armenia.

It is worth recalling that recently the Azerbaijani side published an interview with the Russian Ambassador in Baku, Mikhail Bocharnikov, attributing to him a statement suggesting that 'the Russian side sees no problem in opening the Zangezur corridor.'

'I am not present at those negotiations; they are being handled by the Deputy Prime Ministers and specialists from the three countries. However, the Russian position has been clearly stated multiple times by the co-chair, our Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, that no discussions about any corridor logic are taking place. As for the ambassador's statements, as far as I know, there has been no talk about any corridor, but rather about the opening of communications in the region,' he said.
