Parliamentary Committee Discusses Ratification of Air Communication Agreement with Syria
The ratification of the agreement on air communication between the governments of Armenia and the Syrian Arab Republic will allow the two countries to establish full air cooperation. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Armen Simonian during the discussion of the issue at the meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economic Issues on February 22.
According to him, this communication will also facilitate the development of international cooperation. It will ensure regular bilateral air communication.
"The ratification of the agreement will contribute to the activation of bilateral economic ties. The implementation of regular flights will have an extremely positive impact on the ability of the Armenian community in Syria to visit Armenia, as well as on the opportunities for reciprocal visits of intergovernmental, parliamentary and other delegations," said the deputy minister.
“Considering the aforementioned, as well as the fact that the ratification will contribute to the full legal regulation of relations in the field of permanent air transport between the two countries, the Civil Aviation Committee has deemed the ratification of the agreement to be appropriate,” the minister added.
After brief discussions, the legislative initiative received a positive conclusion from the parliamentary standing committee.
