Video: Man Attempting Murder on Yerevan's Sevani Street Arrested; 8 Shell Casings Found at Scene
On February 10, at 18:50, the police department of Shengavit received a report from the "Erebuni" medical center that a 37-year-old man had sought medical assistance for a gunshot wound. An operational group was dispatched to the hospital.
The police reported that it was determined that the gunshot wound was received on Sevani Street in the capital city.
Thanks to measures taken by the criminal police, the Yerevan police department, and Shengavit's department, it was established that around 18:30 on Sevani Street, a dispute over household issues had occurred. Following this, a 32-year-old man had fired shots at the "Toyota" vehicle of the injured party, before fleeing the scene.
During a search of the scene, 8 9mm shell casings were found. A criminal case was initiated, and examinations were designated.
One week after the incident, on February 17, criminal investigators from the Shengavit police department, with the assistance of officers from the Ararat and Artashat departments, discovered and arrested the 32-year-old man from Yerevan who had fired the shots in the village of Taperakan in the Ararat region.
During the search, two pistols, ammunition, a knife, and a substance resembling marijuana were found in his possession. The arrested individual has been presented to the pre-trial body. Circumstances are being clarified as part of the investigation.
