Two Confectionery Production Facilities in Kotayk Region Suspended

The production activities of two creamy confectionery facilities have been suspended in the Kotayk region, as reported by the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia.

It was revealed that the facilities were operating with gross violations of established sanitary and hygienic standards. “In particular, the floors and wall surfaces in the production areas were damaged and covered with channels and unwashed materials that cannot be completely washed, easily cleaned, and disinfected when necessary. The ceilings were not maintained in a repaired and proper state, preventing the accumulation of dirt, the emergence of mold, and the possibility of particles falling from the ceiling,” stated the FSIA announcement.

By the decision of the head of the FSIA, the production activities of the two mentioned facilities have been suspended, and a deadline has been set to rectify the violations.

Additionally, inspectors from the FSIA's Kotayk regional center conducted checks at the creamy confectionery production facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs Goharik Ajinyan and Knarik Shkhoyan (Hrazdan, Kotayk region).
