The Government Secretly Provided Funds to NGOs: "Joghound"
According to the "Joghound" newspaper, the government allocated 5 million drams in support of several non-governmental organizations from the state budget. This decision was included in the agenda of the government meeting held on February 16, but it was among the non-reported projects. The names of the organizations and the specific areas in which they operate are not disclosed in the government's decision, as the details are classified.
The description notes that the respective NGOs will conduct research, prepare strategic and conceptual documents, and provide advisory, professional, and analytical services for organizing expertise.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance has commented on the project, stating that disbursing funds to political parties, non-governmental organizations, and trade unions from the reserve fund is not advisable. It was also noted that the urgency of the funding allocation is not justified within the project. It was suggested that the necessary expenses for the event be covered by the available resources of the Prime Minister's Office.
According to the newspaper, the government had also allocated 8 million drams to NGOs in the 2022 state budget. Additionally, under the same program, 46 million 976 thousand drams were allocated. However, it remains unclear who received these funds, as the second point of the government decision project was deemed highly confidential.
