Video: Five Detained During Protest in Baku - Details

The Azerbaijani police detained five individuals today during a protest held near the Appeal Court building in Baku. The participants demanded the release of opposition activist Bahtiyar Hajiyev, who has been in custody since December.

Hajiyev, accused of hooliganism and showing disrespect towards the court, has been on hunger strike since January 9. According to his lawyers, the opposition figure's health condition is extremely severe.

On February 20, the Baku Appeal Court decided to keep Bahtiyar Hajiyev in custody, rejecting a motion for his transfer to at least house arrest.
