US Secretary of State Proposes to Armenia and Azerbaijan
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has emphasized the necessity for free movement through the Lachin corridor during negotiations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. This information was noted in a statement from Ned Price, a representative of the US State Department, which was published on the agency's website.
It is mentioned that the Secretary of State has recorded progress towards a peace agreement between the two countries. 'He highlighted the significant progress the parties have made in recent months towards a peace agreement and drew attention to the proposal made by Charles Michel, President of the European Council, to host the parties in Brussels. During the conversation, the Secretary of State emphasized the necessity for free and open commercial and private transit through the Lachin corridor,' the statement reads.
Blinken also urged the parties to open other transportation routes. It is worth recalling that on February 18, a trilateral meeting took place with the participation of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev as part of the Munich Security Conference.
