South Korea and the US Respond to North Korea’s Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Launch

South Korea and the United States, in response to North Korea's launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, conducted joint air exercises involving American F-16 aircraft and B1-B bombers, as well as South Korea's Air Force F-35A and F-15K fighters, according to Yonhap citing the South Korean Air Force.

Previously, it was reported that North Korea launched the Hwaseong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile on Saturday, which reached an altitude of 5,768 km and flew 989 km in 4,015 seconds. This marks North Korea's second missile launch in 2023.

The air force stated, “The exercises enhanced the operational capabilities of the alliance and reaffirmed the commitment of the United States to the Ironclad defense of the Korean Peninsula and extended deterrence obligations.”
