Payments Made Using Bank Cards of Earthquake Victims in Turkey
Turkish banks have begun to restrict payments made with contactless cards. The tightening of card payment procedures has been implemented against the backdrop of fraudulent use of cards belonging to individuals who died in the earthquake, according to a post by the "Baza" Telegram channel.
According to the news outlet, several such cases have been identified, prompting the Turkish government to introduce restrictions. Following the new measures, vendors have started requiring entry of the PIN code each time or insisting on cash payments.
