Six Soldiers Drafted for Three-Month Exercises Abandoned Positions During September Fighting, Investigative Committee Reports

On September 14, 2022, six soldiers accused of abandoning their combat positions have had their case materials sent to court, as reported by the Investigative Committee (IC).

The preliminary investigation conducted by the fifth military investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee's military investigation main department has revealed and substantiated that six soldiers drafted for three-month training exercises from military unit N of the Ministry of Defense, voluntarily abandoned their combat positions on September 14, 2022.

According to the Investigative Committee, these soldiers have been charged with committing a crime as stipulated in part 5 of Article 540 of the RA Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case has been completed, and the prosecutor has approved the indictment conclusion, with the materials sent to court for substance examination.
