"Possibility of CSTO Expansion Exists, Exists, and Will Exist" - Sidorov
The possibility of expanding the CSTO exists, and there are all prospects for friendly countries to join the organization. This was stated by Anatoly Sidorov, the head of the CSTO Joint Staff. This information is reported by RIA Novosti.
“The possibility of the organization’s expansion has existed, exists, and will exist; those friendly countries that wish to first become partners of the organization, then observers, and later members of the organization, all prospects are open for them, but I will not jump ahead of time,” Sidorov said at a press conference.
“If such a decision is made and the composition of CSTO member states is increased, we will always be ready to accept them into the unified system of joint operational preparedness,” he added.
Currently, the CSTO includes six countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
