A court in China has ordered a man to compensate his wife for hiding lottery winnings from her for over a year, according to Oddity Central.

A man named Zhou won $1.2 million in the lottery in 2021. Instead of sharing the news with his wife, he continued to behave as if nothing had happened. Moreover, he transferred a portion of the money to his sister and even helped buy an apartment for his ex-girlfriend, all while his wife remained unaware.

When Zhou's wife discovered the deception, she filed for divorce and demanded a share of the winnings through the courts. The judge granted the plaintiff's request, obligating the Chinese man to pay 60% of the jackpot to his former wife. It has been reported that neither party has filed an appeal.
