Fires Increase in Artsakh Due to Overload of Energy System
The report on the 65th day of the blockade of Artsakh’s government indicates that the frequency of fires in the republic has increased due to the overload of the energy system.
Over the last 7 days, the firefighters of the State Emergency Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh have responded to 5 incidents, resulting in one civilian casualty.
Updated statistical data has also been released. Four children are in the neonatal and intensive care units of the children’s hospital. Ten adult patients are in intensive care, three of whom are in extremely critical condition. Already, 244 children have been born under blockade conditions.
Due to the suspension of planned surgeries in all healthcare facilities in Artsakh, approximately 630 citizens have been deprived of the opportunity to resolve health issues through surgical interventions.
To date, with the mediation and escort of the International Committee of the Red Cross, 90 patients have been transferred from Artsakh to Armenia to receive appropriate medical treatment.
Due to the complicated economic situation, at least 5,100 people have initially lost their jobs and sources of income.
Over 25,600 tons of essential goods would have been delivered to Artsakh if it were not for the blockade, during which only a minimal portion has been supplied by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Russian peacekeeping forces.
