A Lawsuit Against Azerbaijan is Being Prepared Regarding the Violation of Soldier Gishyan's Right to Life
A lawsuit against Azerbaijan is being prepared in relation to the violation of the right to life of soldier Davit Gishyan. This was stated by Siranuš Sahakyan, the head of the International and Comparative Law Center, in an interview with NEWS.am.
Sahakyan noted that the results of the examination are available, and it is clear that Azerbaijan bears responsibility regarding Gishyan's death. She said, 'A lawsuit is being prepared concerning the violation of the right to life. Here, on the one hand, the state has failed in providing emergency medical assistance, and on the other hand, injuries were inflicted while he was still alive, raising questions related to the basis of life. In other words, given the combination of these two facts, we believe that Azerbaijan should be held accountable for Gishyan's life.'
It should be recalled that soldier Davit Gishyan, who was injured during the September battles of the previous year, was reportedly given medical treatment by Azerbaijan. After some time, it became known that the soldier had died. On September 17, Azerbaijan handed over the bodies of 32 Armenian soldiers to Armenia, including that of Davit.
