Number of Azerbaijani and Turkish Tourists Visiting Armenia in 2022 Revealed

Azerbaijani citizens continue to visit Armenia as tourists. While the number of Azerbaijani tourists is not large, the fact remains that they are coming to our country. During the period from January to March 2022, three tourists with Azerbaijani citizenship visited Armenia.

According to the Statistical Committee, a total of five Azerbaijani tourists visited Armenia in 2022. This indicates a gradual increase in numbers. However, we cannot specify how many other Azerbaijani citizens holding citizenship from different countries have also come to our country.

It is also noted that the number of visitors from Turkey has sharply increased. In 2021, 3,740 tourists with Turkish citizenship visited Armenia, but in 2022, this number rose 2.5 times, reaching 9,479.

Let us also recall that months ago, Turkish visitors who arrived in the city of Vedi got drunk and insulted Armenians; a Turkish woman attempted to raise the Turkish flag in the center of Vedi, provoking anger among the local Armenians, which led to a clash.
