Roger Waters, co-founder of Pink Floyd, calls on Putin, Biden, and Zelensky

Roger Waters, co-founder of the band Pink Floyd, called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

“We did not raise our daughters and sons to be cannon fodder for your cannons. In our opinion, the only reasonable action today is an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. President Joe Biden, President Putin, President Zelensky, United States, NATO, Russia, European Union, you all, please change course now, negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine today,” he stated.

Russia convened a session of the UN Security Council to discuss how supplying weapons to Kyiv is prolonging the conflict. Waters spoke at the meeting at Russia’s invitation.

Roger Waters, one of the founders and leaders of Pink Floyd, is breaking through the wall of lies that has stopped the West, wrote Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, on his microblog on February 8. Medvedev commented on Waters' speech at the UN Security Council meeting, referring to the band’s work. He mentioned the 1979 album “The Wall” as well as the 1975 song “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.”
