Suspicion of Drugs in Barracks; Expert Examination Commissioned

According to the newspaper "Joghourds," an investigation into the tragic fire that broke out in the barracks of soldiers from Azat village has led to the commissioning of a narcological examination, as there are suspicions that drugs may have been present in the barracks.

We tried to clarify this information from the Investigative Committee of Armenia, which confirmed our information, stating: "Yes, a such examination has been commissioned, but we have not yet received the conclusion. A comprehensive series of examinations has also been commissioned, including fire-technical, explosion-technical, material, ballistic, trace, construction-technical, and commodity examinations, and their conclusions have also not been received."

The crucial question now is why this examination has been ordered. Families of the officers and the 15 deceased soldiers are suspicious that before the fire spread through the room, the boys could have found ways to escape the burning barracks and save their lives, but they did not act. Even the officer has verbally told the investigators that he found it suspicious that when he yelled and shouted that there was a fire and to wake up and get out, the boys did not respond, implying they were unconscious.

As a result of these suspicions, the aforementioned examination has been commissioned. It is important to note that the officer verbally mentioned that he had poured gasoline to intensify the fire and feels guilty, fearing that he might be convicted for this act. He has already declined to give testimony a second time, even in the presence of a lawyer. To date, the officer has not provided written testimony," reports the newspaper. Details can be found in today’s edition.
