Video: How is it possible to not express condolences to Iran but to Turkey, Vardanian asks

Armenian National Assembly member Agvani Vardanian finds it incomprehensible that Armenia did not send a letter of condolences regarding the earthquake in Iran, yet is now sending rescue teams to Turkey. "An earthquake also occurred in Iran, and I don't remember them sending even a message of condolence regarding Iran. What does this mean? It means that these people have gone under, they have surrendered, they are ready to spin around in circles and submit," Vardanian said in a conversation with journalists at the Parliament.

He added, "How can we express no condolences to Iran but do so to Turkey? How can we say the worst things about Turkey and then start to act friendly towards them?" Vardanian noted that in response to the reminder that previous authorities also sent aid to Turkey after the earthquake in 2012, he stated that he is not against sending humanitarian aid and rescuers to Turkey, but it is unacceptable to say one thing today and do another tomorrow.

“During the 44-day war, many interviews were given regarding Turkey's involvement, and all sorts of things were said about Turkey. After that, when we started pretending to play for peace with Azerbaijan, they began to flatter Turkey so that peace would be established through Turkey. They are the type to concede, they are powerless, incapable,” he stated.
