VIDEO: Terrifying landslides in Peru; people are dying
At least 40 people have died in southern Peru due to landslides caused by prolonged rains, reports Associated Press, citing local authorities.
According to the agency, the flooding occurred in the city of Miski. RPP radio reported that at least 20 people have been injured. Approximately 630 homes have been destroyed. Bridges and roads have also been damaged.
The number of casualties and injuries from the disaster is being updated regularly.
