VIDEO: Leader of Criminal Subculture Group Demanded Morning Payment, Threatened Consequences

More than ten simultaneous searches were conducted in the city of Armavir and surrounding villages. During a search at the residence of citizen A.K., among other items, drugs were also discovered.

Four individuals have been charged with leading and participating in a criminal subculture group, one of whom has been detained. The information is reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. The detained citizen A.K. holds a high rank within the criminal hierarchy and has also led the criminal subculture group.

“On September 15, 2022, A.K. instructed group member A.T. to present the sum of $10,000 to the debtor who had approached him for the return of the debt. Following these instructions, A.T. visited the debtor’s residence several times, even arranging a phone call between the debtor and A.K., during which the latter demanded that the debtor bring the money in the morning, threatening that otherwise there would be problems with them. The next morning, while still carrying out A.K.’s orders, A.T. was unable to find the debtor, after which on September 17, he facilitated A.K.’s illegal acquisition of 350,000 drams,” the statement read.

Additionally, A.K., using his influence, met with two employees of a branch of a cognac factory in Armenia to illegally claim the right to sell the leftover processed grapes from that branch. He demanded that they grant him the right to sell the residue obtained from grape processing and a profit of 20 drams for each kilogram of grapes purchased without a contract, threatening that he would damage the property of the factory branch if his demands were not met.

It was also revealed that on September 28, 2022, upon learning about A.H.’s financial issues with another individual, A.K. promised to personally handle the resolution of that private matter, instructing a close associate to participate in discussions regarding the financial issues with A.H. and his relatives, directing that if the outcome was undesirable, they should terminate the conversation and leave the discussion for the next day to resolve it according to the so-called “criminal” rules set by the members of the criminal subculture group. After that, A.K. personally met with A.H. and promised to resolve his financial dispute in accordance with the behavior rules established and recognized by the criminal subculture group.
