Opposition Decides to Boycott Tuesday's National Assembly Session: Reports
The opposition factions 'Armenia' and 'I Have Honor' have decided to boycott the National Assembly session scheduled for February 7, during which the issue of stripping Seyran Ohanyan of immunity will be discussed. This was reported by ArmLur.am, citing its sources.
It has been learned that the proposal to boycott the session originated from the coalition members. Although some opposition MPs, including Seyran Ohanyan himself, were not in favor of this decision, ultimately the MPs agreed to withdraw, resulting in a decision not to attend or participate in the session.
This means that the ruling party and Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan will alone discuss the question of granting consent to initiate criminal proceedings against Ohanyan. According to ArmLur.am, Seyran Ohanyan will issue a statement on behalf of the opposition in advance.
It is worth noting that the Prosecutor General has also submitted a motion for consent to initiate criminal proceedings against MP Armen Charchyan.
