Russia Must Not Lose in Ukraine: Trenin Explains Consequences for Armenia and Others
The defeat of Russia could lead to global destabilization that would also affect Armenia, says Russian political analyst Trenin. This was reported by Sputnik Armenia.
“Much depends on the outcome of the Ukrainian conflict in Eurasia, including the Caucasus. A Russian victory, which is quite expected given the resources, motivation, and stakes, would result in a more stable situation in Eurasia. Victory would create new opportunities for Russia to act as a system-forming power. However, if this does not happen, we can expect new conflicts and instabilities, including in the South Caucasus,” stated Trenin.
“Yerevan desires to seek other potential allies and partners, and there is nothing condemnable about that. But making a decision is very important. Russia will be watching closely what happens in Armenia,” the analyst added.
