Medvedev Says What Will Happen if Kyiv Starts Strikes on Crimea
If Washington truly wanted to end the war in Ukraine, which it instigated, it could do so with a finger snap. This thought was expressed by Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, in an interview with journalist Nadian Friedrichson, which was published on his Telegram channel.
Thus, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council commented on the journalist's question regarding the Biden administration's idea that supplying Ukraine with more modern weapons and allowing Kyiv to strike Russian objects in Crimea would force Russia to negotiate with Ukraine.
In the Russian politician's view, the outcome will be exactly the opposite. “There will be no negotiations in this case; there will only be retaliatory strikes. Only moral monsters, who inhabit both the White House and the Capitol, can reason this way. By the way, people in the Pentagon are more adequate; they understand the consequences,” Medvedev believes.
In response to the question of what Moscow's response could be if Kyiv, with the permission of the United States, begins to strike Crimea, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia stated that it would be swift, harsh, and convincing.
“Our response can take any form. This has been unequivocally stated by the President of Russia. We do not impose any restrictions on ourselves and, depending on the nature of the threats, are ready to use all types of weapons. I can assure you that the response will be swift, harsh, and convincing,” he noted.
