VIDEO: Thank Lavrov for Saying 7 Regions, Not 12 - Hrant Bagratyan
The actions of the Prime Minister are political hooliganism aimed at pleasing Azerbaijan at the expense of Armenia. Why are you upset with Lavrov? What did Lavrov say? Thank him for stating there are 7 regions, not 12. Just read how Azerbaijan is roaring over that statement.
This was said today by former Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan during parliamentary hearings on the Lachin corridor, referring to the statement by Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, who claimed that Armenia had "occupied" seven regions of Azerbaijan for years.
“If something is said incorrectly, if he doesn’t know about a reservation, stand up and say there is a reservation. But without any reservation, on October 6, you declare that Artsakh is part of Azerbaijan. Now Armenia says Artsakh is Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan says Artsakh is Azerbaijan, and now the question arises: what is the Russian peacekeeper doing in Artsakh?” Bagratyan stated.
According to him, this raises a question for Russians regarding their presence in Artsakh. Bagratyan suggested that Lavrov implies they see a problem in terms of the territory of Artsakh itself.
“Perhaps events will be framed differently tomorrow, and we will not see the appropriate actions from our ally, but we have no right to whine for an offense committed. What should be done? There are several exit strategies: the most alarming part of this story is not Artsakh but Syunik. Let’s understand this; tomorrow they will be on our backs. First, the political course should not change – towards Russia, the West, and so on; second, if there is no exit, withdraw from the November 9 statement; third, recognize the independence of Artsakh; and most importantly, my dear people, there should be a change of power. Our situation may be very bad, but a change of power is necessary. What this man is saying is false. Our situation is bad if things do not change in the coming months; there are serious grounds to believe that Armenia will not exist,” he remarked.
