Stepanakert Receives Electricity Only from Armenia, Says Azerbaijan's Electricity Network Operator

Azerbaijan's electricity network operator, Azerishiq, has announced that Stepanakert receives electricity solely through power lines from Armenia. This statement was made by Aras Mamedzadeh, a representative of Azerishiq, during a meeting held in Baku where the company's 2022 activities were summarized.

“We are capable of providing utility services to any territory of Azerbaijan, but at this moment, Stepanakert is receiving electricity only from Armenia,” the official stated.

Since December 12 of last year, Artsakh has been under blockade, organized by those who identify themselves as “eco-activists” from Azerbaijan. During the blockade, the electricity supply to Artsakh has been repeatedly interrupted, resulting in rotational power outages.
