Vucic Notes Condition Under Which He Would Support Sanctions Against Russia
The Serbian authorities will not support sanctions against Russia as long as the country's vital interests are not under threat, stated Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
Vucic made these comments in response to a call from Nebojsa Zelenovic, the leader of the 'Together for Serbia' party, to support sanctions against Russia, noting that Belgrade has refused them for 350 days.
“We will not change our policy; Serbia will not abandon it unless our vital interests are under threat. I assess the situation such that they are not at risk yet. When they are, I will not harm them for the sake of any other country,” Vucic told parliamentarians.
He added that it is necessary to maintain good relations with both the PRC and the Russian Federation.
