Turkey's Interior Minister Accuses the West of Waging a 'Psychological War'
Western countries have initiated a 'psychological war' against Turkey by closing their diplomatic representations under the pretext of terrorist threats. This was stated by the country's Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.
The minister said, 'America and the West do not want Turkey's freedom and independence, and they started this psychological war the day we announced that we intend to host 60 million tourists and have received $46 billion in tourism revenue.'
According to him, none of the countries that closed their diplomatic missions due to threats of terrorist attacks has contacted their security institutions.
Previously, Germany, following the United States and France, warned its citizens about possible terrorist attacks in Turkey. Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that Ankara condemns the burning of the Quran in Denmark and calls on European administrations to respond to such actions.
Moreover, Turkish TRT news agency reported that Swedish politician Rasmus Paludan burned a Quran in front of a mosque in the Danish capital. The politician, surrounded by police, held a rally in the Dortheavej district of Copenhagen immediately after Friday prayers.
