Snow, Fog, Situation on Roads in Armenia

The Emergency Service reports that there are closed and impassable roads across Armenia.

The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to the Amberd fortress and Lake Karch are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass (from the Gegharkunik direction) is closed for trucks with trailers, while other vehicles can pass with difficulty.

The Stepannavan twists are closed for trucks with trailers. The Dilijan twists are difficult for trucks.

The roads from Amasia to Berdashen, Akhurian, Ashotzk, and Artik are impassable.

The section known as Saravan-"Zanger" is open for trucks with trailers only when using snow chains.

In the city of Jambarak and along the Gyumri-Yerevan highway, there are areas of black ice.

Snow is falling in the Vardenyats Pass, Saravan-"Zanger", the section known as "Meghru Mountain", Kotayk, Lori, Shirak regions, and the cities of Jambarak, Gavar, Kapan, Goris, Dilijan, Novoberd, Jermuk, Vayk, as well as in the regions of Ashtarak, Aparan, and Talin, and along the Yelpin-Chiva highway.

Blizzards are reported in the Ashotzk, Maralik, and Gyumri regions, as well as in the Saravan-"Zanger" and Sisian-"Zanger" sections.

Fog is noted in the cities of Kapan, Kajaran, Talin, and the Ashtarak region.

Regarding the Lars area, based on information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
