There are 2 Main Perspectives in Artsakh, Says Tigran Abrahamyan
Member of Parliament and Secretary of the "Honorary Title" faction Tigran Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page: "In the political and social discourse of Artsakh, I haven't encountered serious political forces or figures who would declare that they support living under Azerbaijan's governance or in conditions of general coexistence. I repeat, in public discourse, although there are marginal groups, who, under various pretenses defending the political line of the Armenian authorities, essentially carry the line of surrendering Artsakh.
Nonetheless, the main discussion in Artsakh revolves around how the struggle will be conducted. There are 2 main perspectives:
1. Direct communication and negotiation with Azerbaijan should be initiated without intermediaries. This approach is also being promoted by the Armenian authorities. Proponents of this option in Artsakh argue that the past 2 years have shown that it is possible to talk directly with Azerbaijan and achieve results, and that is their conviction.
2. Talks should be held with Azerbaijan, but with the involvement of a mediation platform or intermediaries. Advocates of this approach believe that Azerbaijan will encourage, and even make "concessions" just to convince that the right move is to engage directly without intermediaries. However, after excluding the intermediaries from the game and being left alone with Azerbaijan, they will pursue an aggressive policy against the people of Artsakh. Naturally, Azerbaijan is attempting to reach a discussion option without intermediaries, which the Armenian authorities also support. Azerbaijan is clearly pushing Artsakh into a trap, trying to remove the Russians from the game through their own means, which are a significant restraint for Azerbaijan on many issues, and then, left alone with Azerbaijan, will simply absorb Artsakh."
