Surens Papikyan's Visits to Defense Ministry Units Will Be Surprise Inspections
Defense Minister Suren Papikyan has commenced surprise visits to all military units and formations of the Ministry of Defense. These visits will be ongoing and will also have an unexpected nature, as reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
The aim of the surprise visits is to familiarize himself with the organization of service, the discipline and morale of servicemen, social and living conditions, as well as the arrangement of the front line and the progress of construction works.
During the visits, the Minister of Defense will also have direct conversations with the soldiers, listening to their concerns and problems. In cases where indifferent attitudes towards service, non-statutory relationships, and insufficient levels of discipline are observed, those responsible will be severely punished.
It is essential to completely eliminate incidents arising from improper attitudes towards service, negligence, and indiscipline. The year 2023 should be a year of correcting mistakes, diligent work, and restoring the backbone of the army.
On February 1, during a similar visit, the Minister of Defense was at military unit N of the Ministry of Defense, following the organization of service as outlined in the daily schedule. Minister Papikyan also visited a shooting range, monitoring the progress of practical training. Following this, there was a candid conversation with servicemen, during which the Minister of Defense inquired about the organization of service, existing issues, personnel outfitting, and issues related to assigned weaponry.
