Citizen's Luggage Worth 500,000 Dram Disappears from Airplane: 'Hraparak'
On Saturday, we reported that a citizen, S. H., contacted our editorial office stating that on January 16 he flew to Tel Aviv, and upon his return on January 23, more than 12 passengers' luggage went missing from the plane. However, Flyone Armenia, the airline used by the passengers, is not compensating them, wrote 'Hraparak'.
The media outlet adds: “Moreover, the citizen who contacted us indicated that airline employees likely placed his phone number on a blacklist to prevent him from reaching out to the airline. He has been calling for days and cannot get through. 'I lost luggage worth $900, but Flyone Armenia is not addressing the issue. Twelve passengers have lost their luggage; some items have been returned, but they say nothing about my luggage, only stating that they will keep me informed when they have a response. We contacted Zvartnots airport, but in such cases, the responsibility lies with the airline, not the airport,' insists the citizen. 'I call Flyone Armenia, but they blacklisted my phone number, so I cannot call,' our interlocutor remarked.
We reached out to Aram Ananyan, the chairman of the board of Flyone Armenia, to understand who should compensate the citizens for their lost belongings and why the airline is not responding to customer calls. Ananyan assured us that any issue related to the airline would definitely be resolved. 'It is our belief that every passenger's issue should be a priority for us. Any passenger's issue requires immediate resolution; if such a case arises, it cannot be left unresolved. Flyone Armenia is a responsible company and will fulfill its responsibilities in full. Every citizen can be assured of this. We do not shirk our obligations; this is enshrined in domestic and interstate legislation,' he stated.
After reading the aforementioned publication, another citizen, M. M., contacted 'Hraparak' yesterday regarding the same issue, stating that he used Flyone Armenia for a trip to Tel Aviv and lost luggage containing items worth 500,000 dram.
'My luggage went missing on the January 2 flight. We received back two out of three suitcases; the third has not been returned for around a month, nor have we received compensation. We contacted the airline, but they are doing nothing. Initially, they answered us politely and directed us to apply in writing, but later they began to complain and then stopped answering calls, resulting in no compensation. A month after the incident, there has been no response. There was also a woman whose belongings went missing, but I have no information about her. We are very dissatisfied with the service,' the citizen recounted.
We again tried to speak with Aram Ananyan, the chairman of the board of the airline, to understand what the company plans to do. However, his phone number was unavailable. We contacted Flyone Armenia for a statement, but a company employee said that Aram Ananyan is not in Armenia and they could not comment on the situation. We are compelled to publish the issue so that citizens' problems receive solutions.
