Video: Young Bloggers Sentenced to 10.5 Years in Prison for Dancing in Iran

The Iranian court has sentenced two bloggers to 10.5 years in prison for posting a video of themselves dancing. The young couple performed at Tehran's major Azadi Square amid anti-government protests. This was reported by the news agency IranWire.

According to the article, the 15th branch of Tehran's Revolutionary Court accused them of "encouraging corruption, holding meetings, and conspiring to undermine the country's national security."

Records from the court reveal that the convicted, Amir Ahmadinejad and his partner Astiage Haghigh, were denied the right to have a lawyer during the trial, and their request for bail was rejected. Furthermore, they are prohibited from being active on social media and will be required to leave Iran for two years after their prison term ends.
