Trump Complains About Not Receiving Payment for Audio Book and Sues Journalist

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against The Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward for publishing his recorded interviews as an audio book titled Trump Tapes.

Trump claims that the ownership rights belong to him and that Woodward did not obtain permission from him before releasing the audio book. The political figure has expressed dissatisfaction that he has not received any money from this audio book and is demanding more than $49 million in damages from Woodward and the audio book publisher Simon & Schuster, according to ФАН.

Trump's lawyers assert that the former president, who frequently interacted with Woodward in interview format during his time in office (the journalist recorded these sessions), did so “solely for the purpose of the subsequent publication of the book.” In demanding millions in damages, Trump has based his claim on the fact that 2 million copies of the audio book have been sold, each at $24.99.
