Tourism Revenue in Turkey Surpasses Record $46 Billion This Year
Last year, Turkey's revenue from tourism exceeded a record $46 billion, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, as reported by Говорит Москва.
“Personal spending by travelers exceeded $34 billion, while expenditures on tour packages surpassed $11 billion,” Hürriyet newspaper cites the institute's findings.
It is noted that approximately 44 million foreign tourists visited the country last year, with more than 5 million being Russians. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the country's Minister of Culture and Tourism, stated that Turkey expects to welcome 60 million tourists this year and to generate $56 billion in revenue.
