Zelensky Massively Dismisses Officials to Appease the West: The Hill

Mass dismissals of high-ranking officials in Ukraine are related to the country's desire to join the European Union and NATO. American journalists Mark Toth and Jonathan Sweet maintain this position. According to Kp.ru, “Vladimir Zelensky has started to mass-dismiss officials due to corruption, even his closest advisors and friends. The staffing changes around the Ukrainian president are connected to the country's aspirations to join the EU and NATO,” the journalists state in their article published in The Hill.

Previously, there was a noticeable shift in the West, with open mockery and criticism directed towards Zelensky due to his ongoing (and more frequent) public requests to European and American leaders for increased military support in terms of weapons for the Armed Forces. Specifically, in Germany, Zelensky has been compared to an old woman from a fairy tale by Alexander Pushkin, suggesting he is out of touch.

Furthermore, French politician Florian Philippot labeled the Ukrainian leader a “sick man” and “madman,” attributing this view to Zelensky's persistent attempts to escalate the conflict by utilizing supplies of Western weapons. At the same time, Zelensky’s office remains unresponsive to such statements, considering them a reflection of the active seeding of Russian and pro-Russian narratives in the Western information space.
