Video: 10 undeclared natural fur coats of various types and sizes found in citizen's luggage
The Western Customs Office of the Republic of Armenia's State Revenue Committee has uncovered another case of customs rules violation.
Recently, a citizen arriving in Armenia on a flight from Athens chose the "Green Corridor" procedure of the customs control system at the passenger customs control department of the Western Customs Office. Due to reasonable suspicions about the transportation of goods subject to customs declaration, after crossing the exit line of the "Green Corridor" customs control zone, the citizen was escorted by customs officers to the "Red Corridor" control zone, where their luggage was subjected to customs inspection.
The customs inspection revealed that the citizen's luggage contained 10 undeclared natural fur coats of various types and sizes. A customs violation report was drawn up regarding the case, and a fine of approximately 250,000 Armenian drams was imposed as 20% of the total undeclared customs duties, under Article 316 of the Law on Customs Regulation.
Additionally, the mentioned fur coats were declared by the citizen under the customs procedure of "exemption for domestic consumption," resulting in customs duties of approximately 1.3 million Armenian drams being paid by the citizen as stipulated by law.
