Unlicensed Taxi Services at ‘Zvartnots’ Airport Will Be Penalized
The Inspectorate of Urban Development, Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement: “Today, January 27, the specialists of the Transport Safety Department of the Yerevan Division have again conducted strict monitoring of taxi transportation services at ‘Zvartnots’ Airport.
As a result of inspection operations, 9 violations have been recorded. According to the regulatory framework, there are 2 regulations regarding the licensing of taxi services, which apply to individual taxis and private companies.
In accordance with the established regulations, the passenger-taxi vehicles operating at ‘Zvartnots’ Airport must meet the following criteria:
- Be no older than seven years;
- Be predominantly white;
- Operate with a factory fuel system;
- Have a visible taximeter installed in the passenger cabin;
- Feature the ‘AeroTaxi’ branding and an external checkered taxi sign.
The Inspectorate of Urban Development, Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations again warns taxi drivers engaged in passenger transportation: in the absence of the appropriate license, they will be held accountable in accordance with the Administrative Offenses Code of Armenia, which implies an administrative penalty of 50,000 AMD (fifty thousand Armenian drams).”
