Ukraine Calls for Djokovic's Father to Be Banned from Australian Open

The Ukrainian ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, has urged the organizers of the Australian Open to ban Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic's father from the stands until the end of the tournament.

Following Djokovic's victory over Russian Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, a video surfaced on Australian coach Semyon Boykov's YouTube channel showing Djokovic's father, Srdjan Djokovic, wearing a shirt with the letter 'Z' and holding the Russian tricolor featuring a portrait of President Vladimir Putin.

In the video, Djokovic's father proclaims, "Long live the Russians." The Tennis Australia federation has warned Novak Djokovic and his family against promoting political views during the tournament.

“This is unacceptable, it is a shame for the tournament. Sanctions should be applied. It is important to get Novak’s opinion on the situation,” Myroshnychenko stated, as quoted by ABC.
