Hrazdan Schoolboy Ordered 'Gas Balloon' from Wildberries, Brought it and Sprayed it on Other Children
The Ministry of Health announced after noon that an unidentified gas was dispersed by one of the students at School No. 11 in Hrazdan, leading to the hospitalization of 12 children aged between 9 and 14. Hours later, the number of affected children increased to 30 and then to 39. Reports indicated that some of the injured children were sent home following urgent medical care, while others remained under medical supervision.
A source from Hraparak reported that the student who used the gas explained that he had issues with some boys in the class, while the school had discussed his unusual behavior, which also raised concerns about possible connections to the emo movement. According to law enforcement information, the boy used a gas canister intended for self-defense, which is prohibited for individuals under 18.
“One of the kids brought a 'gas balloon' to school and sprayed it on others,” said an informed source. In this way, the boy punished his “enemies.” Authorities are trying to determine how the gas canister ended up in the minor’s hands. The police reported that the materials have been sent for investigation.
“We checked the children's pockets and bags, suspecting that some substance may be the source of the itching. That student took the canister out of his pocket and said, ‘It’s with me, but I didn’t do it.’ He stated it was for defense outside in case someone bothers him. We suspect that he is saying he didn’t do it out of fear. In any case, nothing else was found on anyone else. It was a small canister. He said he ordered it from Wildberries. Initially, we changed the classroom, then decided to send the children home, and called the parents to take them home,” said Hermine Harutyunyan, the organizer of educational activities at the school, in an interview with NEWS.am.
