Video: Zelensky's Address Broadcast on Russian Television through Ukrainian Hackers
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address was broadcast yesterday, albeit with some technical interruptions, in the Russian regions of Belgorod and Krasnodar, as well as in the annexed Crimea.
The broadcast took place on the Russian television channels CTC and TNT instead of their regular daily programs. The transmission intermittently disappeared and was restored.
According to Oleg Kyryuchkov, advisor to the head of Crimea on information policy, the broadcast of Ukraine's president's address on Russian airwaves is a result of hacking intervention conducted with the help of Americans. “The Americans are still providing the largest online platforms' software passwords to Ukrainian special services during the first phase of the ‘special military operation.’ Cable operators frequently take signals from the internet. The situation is not favorable for Ukrainians on the battlefield, which is why they resort to hacking attacks,” Kyryuchkov stated.
Authorities in Belgorod also reported that “there was an illegal alteration of the signal received from the satellite.”
