VIDEO: Entrepreneurs in Jermuk to Receive Compensation
Entrepreneurs affected by the September military operations in Jermuk will receive compensation for utility expenses as per the government's decision. The support program was approved during today’s cabinet meeting.
The Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan stated that the military actions significantly impacted the activities of businesses engaged in hotel and guesthouse operations in the Vayots Dzor region's Jermuk community. Hotels and guesthouses had suspended their operations for up to two months. As a result, the turnover of businesses in Jermuk providing hotel and guesthouse services has decreased by nearly threefold.
According to Kerobyan, there is a necessity to reduce the financial burden on these organizations to a certain extent and to support the maintenance of service quality. He stated, “The project proposes to provide a one-time support to the entrepreneurs managing accommodation in the Jermuk community of Vayots Dzor region by compensating 100% of their electricity and gas expenses for the months of September to December 2022.” He added that this would allow companies to continue providing services without compromising quality.
Compensation will be provided to approximately 20 entrepreneurs engaged in accommodation management in Jermuk. The total cost for gas and electricity compensation is estimated to be around 50-60 million drams.
