Man Wins $613,000 in Lottery After Switching Shifts for Doctor's Appointment
A British man has changed shifts with a colleague to go to a doctor's appointment. On his way to the hospital, the Brit stopped at a store and bought a lottery ticket, winning $613,000.
However, this was not a surprise for the man, as he believed he would become wealthy one day. “Yes, it took me about 28 years, but now I’m retiring with extra money,” said the winner.
The man mentioned that part of the money would be spent on his wedding with his 60-year-old fiancée, Kim Reidy. “We always knew we would eventually get married, but money was always spent on something else.”
65-year-old Jeff Atherington works in the automotive industry. His colleagues erupted in spontaneous applause when they learned that he had won.
