Gegharkunik Governor: "During My Service, There Weren't Any Better Conditions"

During a press briefing with journalists, Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan addressed questions regarding the fire that claimed the lives of 15 soldiers, stating that he had been present at the site since 3 AM on the night of the incident. He remarked, “What people who are uninformed talk about is not reality. They are making statements saying they weren't there, that they weren't aware, but they are making analyses.”

In response to a journalist's inquiry about whether he was aware of the conditions in which the soldiers serve, he stated, “I have been aware of where their barracks are located; it is not my place to evaluate those conditions. I believe that the Ministry of Defense has had its own assessment regarding their placement.”

When asked if he would serve under those conditions, the governor replied, “During my service, it was not that there were any better conditions.”
