Washington to Transfer 31 M1 Abrams Tanks to Kyiv: Official

US President Joe Biden has confirmed that Washington will transfer 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Kyiv. This was reported by RT, noting that he made the announcement during a speech at the White House. According to him, the delivery of these tanks to Ukraine will take a certain amount of time.

He also stated that the US will quickly begin training the personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces on the use of Abrams tanks.

Earlier, a senior official from the White House confirmed that the US would send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. He stated that this is part of Washington's ongoing efforts to provide capabilities necessary for the Ukrainian army's 'better self-defense.'

Previously, CNN reported that President Joe Biden's administration is finalizing a plan to transfer approximately 30 tanks to the Ukrainian army. According to the channel, the decision could follow 'this week.'

The Kremlin has stated that the idea of supplying US Abrams and German Leopard tanks to Ukraine has failed for technological reasons.
