Ukraine Seeks Western Fighter Jets After Tanks, Says Defense Minister's Advisor
Ukraine's government is set to pursue the supply of fourth-generation Western fighter jets, such as the American F-16, according to an interview with Yuriy Sak, advisor to Ukraine’s Defense Minister, as reported by the BBC's Russian service.
"The next major obstacle will be the fighter jets," Sak stated, as quoted by the agency, adding, "If we receive them, the advantage on the battlefield will be enormous... and it's not just about the F-16; we need fourth-generation fighters."
“Initially, they were unwilling to provide us with heavy artillery; later they did. They were hesitant to give us HIMARS systems, but eventually did. They were reluctant to provide tanks, and now they are giving them. With the exception of nuclear weapons, we can receive everything," Sak added.
