When the EU Civil Mission Will Fully Operate in Armenia

On January 23, the EU Council agreed to establish the European Union Civil Mission (EUMA) in Armenia within the framework of its common security and defense policy. This was stated by the EU Delegation in Armenia in response to a query by News.

“The mission aims to support stability in Armenia's border areas, strengthen trust on the ground, and create conditions conducive to efforts for normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the support of the EU. The mission's mandate is set for two years and will involve up to 100 personnel, including experts and EU monitors. It will start fully operating in the coming weeks. The mission will be deployed in several locations in Armenia, primarily in border regions near Azerbaijan. Its operational zone will encompass the entire length of the border with Azerbaijan, including the Nakhichevan section,” the EU Delegation informed.
