Azerbaijan Failed Political Blitzkrieg, Says Tigran Abrahamyan
Member of the National Assembly from the "Honorary Right" faction, Tigran Abrahamyan, writes: "Azerbaijan's primary expectations regarding the blockade of Artsakh have not been fulfilled. Consequently, Azerbaijan will either make tactical changes or the measures implemented will take on a more intense nature. The propaganda and political toolkit that Azerbaijan used in the first and second weeks of the blockade has been exhausted, and a new one has yet to be introduced into the game. On the other hand, the reasonable timeframe that would have given Azerbaijan significant movement in terms of international perception has also been exhausted.
Azerbaijan has failed its political blitzkrieg and is now trying to revise the rules of the game it set. This does not mean that everything will end soon and life will return to normal; however, the resistance and struggle of the people of Artsakh have muddled the cards not only for Azerbaijan but for various international players as well."
It is worth noting that on the morning of December 12, a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothing blocked the Stepanakert-Goris highway that connects Artsakh to Armenia under the pretext of environmental reasons at the intersection of Shushi-Karin Tak. From December 13 onward, the Azerbaijani side has intermittently cut off gas supply to Artsakh. Since January 9, electricity supplies from Armenia to Artsakh have also been disconnected from the territories under Azerbaijani control. The Azerbaijani side does not allow specialists to approach and understand the reasons in order to carry out emergency recovery work if necessary. In Artsakh, electricity supply is being carried out through scheduled outages. The Lachin Corridor remains closed.
