Khachanov Reaches Semifinals, Armenian and Artsakh Flags Observed in the Stands

Russian-Armenian tennis player Karen Khachanov has reached the semifinals of the Australian Open for the first time in his career. His opponent, American Sebastian Korda, withdrew due to a wrist injury.

In the quarterfinals of this Grand Slam tournament, Khachanov was leading 3-0 in the third set when Korda retired. Khachanov had already won the first two sets with scores of 7-6 (7-5) and 6-3.

Previously, Khachanov had reached the semifinals at the US Open in 2022, and this marks the second time in his career he has reached this stage at a Grand Slam. His next opponent will be determined based on the match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jiri Lehecka.
